We will hear from Damon Young and Rachel Frawley about how they used their  APG scholarship funds! I also want to encourage stories about Dragon*Con from those who were there! It was amazing!

2023 Carol Daniel Memorial Scholarship Winner

The Atlanta Puppetry Guild Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce Rachel Frawley of Piccadilly Puppets as the recipient of the 2023 Carol Daniel Memorial Scholarship in support of attendance at the upcoming National Puppetry Festival of the Puppeteers of America (July 18-22 at the University of Maryland).

We're proud to have Rachel represent APG at the festival, and look forward to hearing about her festival experiences at a future meeting. CONGRATULATIONS RACHEL!

The 2023 National Puppetry Festival will be July 18-22, 2023, at the University of Maryland in Baltimore.

At 7:00 we will be screening a piece from the vast film collection in the Center's archives, details below! (It was tough to choose since there are so many fun things to watch, we will certainly do this again!)
This choice seemed a fitting tribute to Akbar!

African Folktales: More Puppet Suitcase Magic

Watch three brightly colored suitcases turn into puppet stages as this clever and humorous storyteller performs several African folktales.  You'll meet a man who wishes to be everything but himself in  "The Stone Cutter;" a gardener who's carried off by the biggest butterfly in the land in "The Attack of the Giant Butterfly" and other interesting characters.

This show ran August 15-September 3 1994/95 season

We will have a swap-and-shop* opportunity in the parking lot before the meeting at 6:30.

---BONUS: The MUSEUM will be open for us to visit!!

* Bring any craft items, puppet related stuff you don't want and we'll share it with one another in the parking lot without having to carry it all upstairs!
